Coordinator: Carolyn Crowe
Redeemer Fellowship supports Samaritans Purse ministry of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) by collecting items for shoeboxes that are sent around the world. These shoebox gifts are an expression of God’s love and a way of sharing the gospel to millions of children. Each fall our church packs shoeboxes with donated items that will then go all around the world. Our church goal this year (2025) is a total of 100 boxes.
Parents and Grandparents this is a great opportunity to involve your children or grandchildren in the work of the church!
Message from Carolyn on June 5:
It's 24 weeks until Collection Week for OCC. That sounds a long way off doesn't it?
But now is the time for prayer for the children receiving boxes in more than a hundred countries around the world. Every box is an opportunity to reach a child (and their family) for Jesus.
One of the big box-office movies this summer is Mission Impossible. It will be full of ridiculously dangerous stunts. But we are on a mission this summer to pray and to seek creative ways to fill more shoeboxes with love that can change lives and communities forever for the Kingdom of God.
I'll ask you something; "What if we postured ourselves in such a way where we say to God, "I'll be Your Mission Accomplice... I will pack shoeboxes, I will pray for the millions of children to say "yes" to following Jesus. Count me in.
We have the assignment. We have the means, but do we have the will to follow through.
A quote from Franklin Graham, founder of Samaritan's Purse: "Wining the hearts of children for Jesus Christ is what keeps us on the journey to deliver a profound message in a simple shoebox gift."
Pray for the recipients of the boxes
Shoe boxes are currently available in the Civic Center lobby before and after worship.
